⚠️ If you believe your vehicle has been stolen, it's important that you contact law enforcement right away. RecovR will not do this on your behalf.

Activating Theft Recovery Mode

You can activate Theft Recovery Mode in the mobile app to track your vehicle's location at more frequent intervals, to receive targeted support from the RecovR team, and to get a tracking link that can be shared with law enforcement so they can monitor your vehicle's movements on your behalf.

To activate Theft Recovery Mode:

  1. Log into the RecovR mobile app and select the vehicle that you believe may have been stolen

  2. Tap the button 'Has your vehicle been stolen'

  3. After reading the information on next steps, tap 'Activate Theft Recovery Mode'

  4. Confirm whether or not you wish to receive a call from the RecovR Support Team

  5. Once a selection is made, you will see your vehicle in Theft Recovery Mode, and you will gain access to a tracking code to share with law enforcement. However, it may take a moment to connect to your locator in order for the more frequent updates to occur.

If you have not called 911 yet, do so now.

If you have issues activating Theft Recovery Mode, you can contact our support team to help you 🤝

Sharing Vehicle Tracking with Law Enforcement

To share vehicle tracking information with Law Enforcement or 9-11 dispatch:

  1. Once theft recovery mode has activated, you will see your case information and the URL that police can be used to view the vehicle's current and historical location. You can either share the link, case number, and case access code with them verbally over the phone, or send it via text or email. Be careful who share this link with, because they will be able to track your vehicle until you end theft recovery mode.

Pro Tip 💡 If you press down on the Law Enforcement URL, it will copy the link to your clipboard.

Ending Theft Recovery Mode

In order to preserve your battery life, we recommend that you end Theft Recovery Mode as soon as you recover your vehicle. Your vehicle's location will become unavailable in the Law Enforcement URL as soon as Theft Recovery Mode ends.

To end Theft Recovery Mode:

  1. Press the red 'End Theft Recovery Mode' at the bottom of the Theft Recovery Mode screen

  2. Select the reason that you are ending Theft Recovery Mode

  3. Allow the locator up to 15 minutes to return to its normal state. Until this occurs, you may be unable to re-activate Theft Recovery Mode, and your vehicle's location may still update at more frequent intervals.
