Your locator is designed to work everywhere in the US and Canada where LTE coverage is available. If your locator is outside of LTE coverage for 6 hours or more, you will see a “Locator Not Reporting" locator health state in your RecovR app.
This alert does not require any immediate action on your part - in fact, it should resolve itself when your vehicle moves into a different location. This is common when locators are in areas with connectivity problems, like parking garages, secluded wooded areas, and cellular dead zones. The locator may not be reporting due to external interferences, like severe weather and power outages.
In most cases, your locator will reconnect once you move to an area with better LTE coverage.
Note: If your locator continues to be disconnected and not reporting, the RecovR app will show the “Replace Locator” status. You can learn more about replacing your locator here.
